Acacia Rose sent this letter outlining why she wants a renewable-powered future to her local MP, Mike Kelly, after taking a party of European skiers to the top of Mt Kosciuszko for Ski for Solar.

The Hon Mike Kelly
Member for Eden Monaro
Parliament House
CANBERRA ACT 2600
Dear Mike,
Today, we took the Build Big Solar message to the top of Australia, to Mt Kosciuszko! The message was skied through some outstanding terrain and a landscape that relies on clean air without air pollution from gas or coal fired power stations in Victoria, to maintain the levels of precipitation; ice, rain, snow sleet, fog and mist that feeds the biodiverse alpine and subalpine vegetation. These sensitive ecosystems form the substantive water catchments that provide essential life giving moisture for agricultural, domestic and environmental purposes as well as powering the Snowy Hydro generators.
The comments that one of our Polish visitors made was 'there is so much sun in Australia' and that 'you can shut down a coal fired power station immediately, but it takes ten years to cool a nuclear power station' and from the German visitor 'Germany is shutting down its nuclear power stations.'
The rest of the world gets the message that Australia should build big solar.
We sincerely hope that the Labor Government gets the message and has the courage to retrofit existing coal fired power stations to solar thermal and to generate new jobs in the solar sector.
Thank you for your representation and I do trust that you will deliver this message to Parliament also, on behalf of one of your constituents, representing the thoughts, wishes, hopes and aspirations of many more people in Eden-Monaro and around Australia.
Thank you.
Acacia Rose
