The Ryde Gladesville Climate Change action group jumped into the chance to join the 100% Renewable campaign and spent an enjoyable Saturday afternoon reclaiming the signs of Gladesville, Ryde and Hunters Hill.

Raymond from our group is a photographer (handy hey?) and took some lovely images (note to self: ask everyone to take their sunglasses off next time... an unlovely look!).
We called the journalists at our local paper on Monday and asked if they would be interested in running a story and sent the photos with a media release off to them. They got interested and called up and interviewed me as well. The following week there was no story, but the week after they had done us proud and made it into a larger story including an interview with our local member, Maxine McKew (see below).
She described us as having "acpocalyptic" views about climate change. Hmmmm... interesting take on the CSIRO, BOM and IPCC. Must look for those horsemen of death in their next reports. Since then she said in an interview published in the Sydney Morning Herald that her constituents are concerned about climate change.
Since then we have also surveyed community members at a local shopping centre and are getting a great response to the survey questions.
