Emailing your MP to support renewable energy

Now that the details of the carbon price package have been announced with a great outcomes for renewable energy, it's important we show a strong community response!

Can you take a minute to tell your elected member of parliament that you support the proposed new investment in renewable energy?

If they are an ALP member or an Independent tell them:

  • You are pleased to see a strong commitment to renewable energy as part of the carbon price package.
  • This is a good first step as part of a move towards a 100% renewable energy future.
  • Renewable energy is the only source of power that gets cheaper the more we install so investing in renewables is one of the best ways to manage rising energy prices.
  • It also will mean lots of new jobs and clean safe power.
  • You will be looking forward to seeing these programs rolled out as soon as possible.

If they are from the Coalition tell them:

  • You support this plan to significantly boost renewable energy in Australia.
  • Renewable energy means news jobs and investment as well as a move to cleaner safer sources of power that will never run out.
  • Renewable energy is also the only source of power that gets cheaper the more we install and therefore the best way to manage rising energy costs.
  • You hope they will actively support these measures to see Australia move to a renewable energy future.
  • (If they are from the National Party - renewable energy means regional development and jobs - why are they standing in the way of renewables investment?!)
