In 2012, 100% Renewable will be focussing our efforts on finally doing what Australia should already be doing - building big solar!
It's high time that Australia, the sunniest continent on earth, got serious about building big solar - not just making announcements and putting plans in place - but actually getting new solar capacity built.
We will continue to champion all forms of renewable energy but we know that Australians are inspired by the potential of big solar to replace our ageing and dirty coal- and gas-fired power plants.
There are new funding bodies being set up (the $10bn Clean Energy Finance Corporation and $3bn Australian Renewable Energy Agency), large scale baseload solar plants are operating in Spain and are being built at a rate of knots in the United States.
We've spent some solid months building our 2012 Build Big Solar strategy and hope you'll take this opportunity to look through it.
