In 2011 community members across Australia campaigned hard for the carbon price package to include measures to support the development of renewable energy in Australia.
This campaigning resulted in the Multi-party Climate Committee negotiating new renewable energy committments in three significant areas:
- The establishment of the $10billion Clean Energy Finance Corporation
- The establishment of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency
- The committment for the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to model a 100% Renewable energy grid
These committments need to be delivered on in 2012. We have now established three policy trackers to follow progress in each of these policy areas.
These trackers are a resource for anyone interested in the development and progress of the three policies. We will regularly post updates with news and information about developments in each of the three areas, the different players involved, and 100% Renewable's perspectives and campaign activities around each of those policy areas.
We hope this will be a useful resource for ensuring transparency and accountability in the implementation of these important measures.
If you have any information you would like to share with us regarding progress in these three policy areas please email info
