Recharge Kuranda

RECHAGE KURANDA has recently been launched as a New Transition Town Movement on the Tablelands in FNQ. Below is a quick review: Well we did it and it was in one word. Great. the Recharge Kuranda forum was well attended and the Community Hub looks just great with just the straw bales alone. We had such great, passionate and professional guest speakers. Both Janet Millington and Anna McGuire were able to articulate their vision and the message that they came with was well received. Anna spoke about the 100% renewable energy campaign that Recharge Kuranda will become a strong part of, we got inspired and there is follow up material to work with and that is just Great. Janet Millington whom is just such an amazing resource and wealth of information and experience to have in our little region. Responsible for many successful Transition Towns in both Australia and abroad, she had a great comparing model between the Eumandi Markets and the potential that Kuranda might have if they choose to Recharge. Just Great to have that wisdom and know how in our midst.  the Transition Town template might very well be adopted in Kuranda but for that we will need more voices, more people together. There was much more discussed and so much more we could talk about but, WHAT'S NEXT? 12 of June Recharge Kuranda v. 1.2 :) Public Forum to discuss priorities for the Council Consultation meeting because there will be a Community Consultation meeting with Council on the 28th of June the group present at the Reacharge Kuranda Forum decided we should bring the community together again to see what issues we value most and are dearest to our hearts. in that light we have booked in a SUNDAY SESSION in the Original Kuranda Markets. The actual meeting will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM But we will create a well filled program for both the morning and afternoon. Expect more greatness, see more potential, knowing that we can bring it together will lead into something great.
