Last weekend, groups started flyering in ALP seats around the country, worried that their MPs will cave in to the big polluters and see the carbon price do very little for renewable energy, despite huge community support for renewable energy.

.... it's nice to know you have thousands of messages of support for renewable energy behind you.

A huge congratulations again to the hundreds of volunteers from 72 local groups who gave up their Sat morning sleep-ins and Sunday arvos in the garden with kids to have thousands of conversations about renewable energy over the past few months.

It’s a cool & overcast afternoon in Campbell’s Creek & I am out door knocking with nine other members of the Mount Alexander Sustainability Group. We could be at home, catching up on chores, hanging out with the kids, pulling out the weeds… or a million other things, but like hundreds of others, we are volunteering with the 100% renewable energy campaign in cities & towns right across Australia, and we are talking to people in their homes about renewable energy...

Parramatta Says Yes to a Price on Pollution and Yes to Renewable Energy

 

Members of the Parramatta Climate Action Network (ParraCAN) met with Ms Julie Owens Federal MP for Parramatta to discuss the outcomes of its survey involving hundreds of Parramatta households, as part of a national survey on renewable energy of more than 10,000 homes.

At last - the numbers add up, the comments are all typed in, and we are sending off our last batch of St John's Wood Sustainability 'conversation' results, before the results are tallied up to present to various politicians.

It's been a great experience for our group over the past months - doorknocking the suburb was sometimes excruciating, but oh so educational.  Everyone should do it! We've had, and started, a lot of conversations that would not otherwise have happened.

Time for a soak in the bath, and maybe a nice glass of red wine...

Dozens of people gathered on the steps of the market building last Sunday, World Environment Day, saying YES to a price on pollution and YES to more support for renewable energy; like solar and wind power.

“A price on pollution is important for Australia but we know that on its own it won't build more renewable energy," said Mount Alexander Sustainability Group (MASG) Co-Chairperson Dr. Susie Burke.
